Unfortunately there is a need for registered charities that assist equines in need, and Rein Rescue wishes they could save them all, but sadly, it is unrealistic, but thankfully we have found a way we can help other horses in need.
Being in an animal welfare organisation, it isn't just about the animals in our care, it is about ALL animals.
We are Rein try to assist other organisations, with the help from our lovely supporters, to work together and help animals live the life they deserve.
Here is how Rein Rescue has helped so far.
Racing Victoria and the Bulla Horses.
In May 2016, the media ran rampant with the horrible news that an Ex-Trainer, allegedly had starved, neglected thoroughbreds on his property in Bulla.
Before funding was organised and finalized, Cathy leading with her heart, organised crowd funding, as Rein was unable to help personally by taking in horses for rehabilitation, we all agreed to try and help in anyway we can.
We did not expect to have such a large response, but due to the media, it was the topic on everyones mind, we wish all cases got the kind of media attention they deserve.
Cathy was in communication with Racing Victoria the whole way through, and it felt great to see so many people wanting to help, and it felt amazing the day we transferred the crowd funded money to Racing Victoria, to assist the poor horses after care and rehabilitation back into the equine world.
From the start, to the finish, the involvement of so many angels is amazing, we are so grateful for what everyone has done with not only these horses, but every single one of them.
Halters for Egypt Equine Aid.
A few months ago, 2016, we called on our supporters once again to help another equine related organisation, this time, the collection of halters, for the charity over in Egypt, which provides much needed equine services to the horses over there.
This organisation is a smaller charity, with a big goal and even bigger hearts.
We choose to send halters as many of us have various sized halters laying around.
It was heartbreaking knowing that something we think so little of, can make such a difference over there.
Halters, instead of chains, wire and various other objects found laying around, that are put on horses and donkeys.
Our amazing supporters and the admin team, managed to fill a massive box for these angels, from foal to full.
We hope our large box of halters will provide some much needed comfort and safety for the horses and donkeys in Egypt.
If you missed the opportunity to donate halters, the organisation has other ways you can help.
